Designed to be easy to maintain and repair, the truck served in all theatres supplying the front lines with needed material. One notable supply operation that the truck took part in was the "Red Ball Express" supply chain that was created after the Allied invasion of Normandy. It?s rugged versatility meant that it was extremely configurable and troops in the field often added their own modifications according to their needs, like soldiers in Vietnam who welded armor plates to their trucks.
