The Grumman F6F Hellcat is a fighter descended from the earlier F4F Wildcat, but was a completely new design. The Hellcat proved to be the most successful aircraft in naval history, destroying 5,171 aircraft while in service with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps plus 52 with the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm during World War II.

Kit consists of 364 parts on 10 sprues, photo etched seat belt, film instrument panel, 4 rubber tires and markings for VF-27 of USS Princeton 1944 and VF0-29 of USS Marcu 1945. Additional features include a clear engine cover, fully detailed engine compartment and double wasp two tow radial engine, M2 machine guns, optional folding wings, external drop tanks, air tow tractor and rockets.
