AMMAT20753 AMMO by Mig ATOM Paint Set - Bundeschwehr Afghanistan Scheme

This set includes four high-quality acrylic paints specially designed for painting the camouflage patterns used by German Bundeswehr vehicles deployed in Afghanistan.

In 2003, German forces joined the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), marking the beginning of large-scale overseas operations for the first time since WWII. Recognizing the inadequacy of standard NATO camouflage in the region’s arid landscapes, the Bundeswehr developed a specialized range of Umtarnfarben colors—temporary coatings designed for adaptability in desert and steppe environments.

These non-permanent paints were applied to a variety of German military vehicles stationed in Afghanistan, including the ATF Dingo, Fuchs (TPz 1), Marder 1A5, Panzerhaubitze 2000 (PzH 2000), Wolf SSA, Unimog U5000, MAN SX & HX trucks, Leopard 2A6M, and Boxer MRAV, among others. Beyond their operational use, the striking appearance of the Umtarnfarben schemes contributed to their widespread use on prototype and display vehicles showcased at arms fairs. This set makes it easy to choose the correct colors for your models, helping you quickly and easily achieve the best results.

ATOM paints have a water-based formula that offers all the advantages of lacquer and is optimized for maximum performance with both brush and airbrush. The features of this paint include self-levelling capability, fast drying time, and exceptional covering power which makes them unique to the market. Additionally, they are extremely durable, allowing for the use of acrylics, lacquers, enamels, or more aggressive products such as decal solutions once dry. They come in a new transparent 20 ml bottle with a convenient vertical dropper cap that can be opened and closed with one hand. This paint is odorless and environmentally friendly. It can be applied directly from the bottle or thinned with AMMAT20500/20510/20520 ATOM Thinner and Cleaner, or AMMAT20501/20511/20521 ATOM Thinner and Cleaner with Retarder.
