TRP02838 1:48 Trumpeter F-100C Super Sabre Fighter #2838

The F100 served in the USAF from 1954 until 1971. It was originally designed as a higher performance follow-up to the F-86 Sabre. Adapted as a fighter bomber, the F-100 would be supplanted by the F-105 Thunderchief for strike missions over North Vietnam. It also flew extensively over South Vietnam as the Air Force's primary close air support fighter. The ?C? variant featured new J57-P21 engines enabling faster speeds for more efficient bombing runs.

Kit consists of 164 parts on 8 sprues plus markings for 322nd FG at Foster AFB in Texas in 1956 and also for 188th TFS of New Mexico, based at Tuy Hoa in Vietnam, 1970.
