Description
The Fairey Swordfish was a torpedo bomber built by used by the Fleet Air Arm of the British Royal Navy during World War II. It was operated primarily as a fleet attack aircraft, however, during its
later years it was also used as an anti-submarine and training craft. Designed in the 1930s, the Swordfish outlived several types intended to replace it and remained in frontline service through to the end of the war in Europe in 1945.
Kit consists of 190 parts on 11 sprues plus photo etched bracing wire, film instrument panel, rubber tires and markings for Feb 1942 and 1941 Ark Royal. Tooling depicts the "stretched cloth" look on the fuselage and wings showing "ribs" protruding. Other features include Pegasus 3M radial engine, torpedo, bombs, rockets and flares and an optional clear fuselage to view the internal mechanism of the plane. Competed kit measures over 13" long w/wingspan of over 17".
